Defect / Noncompliance Description
Describe the defect or noncompliance:During assembly, the passenger-side front stabilizer bar bracket bolts may have been improperly fastened. If the bracket bolt(s) loosens and separates from the vehicle frame, the stabilizer bar and/or bracket can damage the high voltage cables and/or EV battery coolant lines.
Describe the safety risk:If the high voltage cable and/or EV battery coolant lines are sufficiently damaged, over time the vehicle may shut off or become undriveable, increasing the risk of a crash.
Identify any warning which can precede or occur:Abnormal noise, such as a clunk or rattle, from underneath the vehicle while driven.
Describe the cause:General Motors (GM), which manufactured the affected vehicles, informed Honda that the issue present in the vehicles under recall was caused by an improper tightening logic configuration of the dual spindle tool that was used to retighten the front stabilizer bar bracket bolts during manufacturing when an associate identified a loose bracket bolt. If the tool determined the first of the two stabilizer bracket bolts was properly torqued, the second bolt might have been incorrectly judged to be properly torqued as well, even if it is not. The cause of this recall is a tightening logic configuration that is different than the cause of the previous 2024 ZDX stabilizer bar recall (NHTSA Campaign ID 25V-018) and does not include any of the previously recalled vehicles.
Identify the Remedy
Describe the defect / noncompliance remedy program, including the manufacturer's plan for reimbursement:Registered owners of all affected vehicles will be contacted by mail and asked to take their vehicle to an authorized Acura dealer. The dealer will inspect and, as necessary, properly fasten the bolts and/or repair the passenger-side front stabilizer bar and brackets, high voltage cables, and EV battery coolant lines.
Owners who have paid to have these repairs completed at their own expense may be eligible for reimbursement, in accord with the recall reimbursement plan on file with NHTSA.
Describe what distinguishes the remedy component from the recalled component:The remedy consists of tightening the stabilizer bar bracket upper and lower bolts with the proper tightening logic. The components remain the same.
Identify the Recall Schedule
Describe the recall schedule for notifications:Dealer notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about 4/11/2025. Owner notification is scheduled to begin and end on or about 5/27/2025.
